Happy St. Patrick's Day (36 weeks)

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! In honor of this special occasion, we dressed Tyler up in a pair of Will's shamrock boxers . Tyler loves his grown up pants - almost looks like a giant dress! We didn't do much to celebrate this year, nope, no green bear or anything. I used to really enjoy St. Patrick's day - always had fun with friends at Irish bars! :) That picture was from 2 years ago, and there were Irish dancers there too! This past week I actually attended a social event - gasp! I can seriously count on (less than) one hand how many social things I've been to since Tyler has been born. By this I mean events that Tyler doesn't come. There usually has to be a really good reason. And this was no exception! - our pal John (my first friend at Boeing actually!) is leaving not only the company, but the state! Awww! I still remember back in 2004 when we both first started working, we'd go to the cafeteria together in the mornings! We'll miss you John! - come visit... and keep posting comments! heehee. Here's a picture from Tuesday night at BJs in Huntington Beach. John is 2nd from the left, then Eric, Anath, Channing, me and then Lara.
Friday marked the end of an era. We returned Will's Infiniti G35. I can't believe we've had that car already for 3+ years - time flew by so quick. This was Will's 'youthful' car, his car to zoom around in before we needed to get something more sensible (like the Mazda CX-9). I never drove this car much, but everytime I did I would wonder why I didn't drive it more (its got great acceleration compared to my IS). Since it's a coupe, I was always paranoid about my blind spots because I didn't really have much of a back window to look out of. Oh well. Goodbye car! (goodbye youth... just kidding!)
Even Tyler got to (pretend) drive it a little. "Don't drive angry!" (who knows where that's from? heehee)
I am loving the more independent Tyler! more independent = eating out! whoohoo! We went back this week to one of our favorite restaurants - Anjin! Mmm yum I love that place. For those that don't know - its Japanese style korean bbq. Kind of pricey for what you get, but oh so yummy (plus you leave smelling really yummy too!). I was worried about the smoke affecting Tyler, but its amazingly quite nicely ventilated in there.
Of course Yogurtland afterwards ... yum yum!
This weekend was pretty chill. Saturday was filled with errands (new baby monitor, buying bibs, checking out the new library near the MarketPlace) and breakfast out and about. It was nice to be able to eat breakfast with Tyler hanging out in his high chair. Its getting much easier to take him out with us now. whoohoo!
Tyler has been getting better at moving around in his walker - although its still only backwards since he can only barely touch the floor. We have to keep an eye on him though, since there isn't a lot of open-space-tiled floor.
Sunday we took Tyler out for his first picnic! Yay! We went to Bill Barber park in Irvine (the same park as last week) and really had a lot of fun. We went with our neighbors (Roger & Serah) and another couple (Wendy & David) who have a little one Andrew that's 14 months. It was a really beautiful day (check out the sky in the pictures below) and was really nice hanging out on the grass. Tyler got to go on swings and a slide for the first time also! He really liked the swing I think, he kept kicking his legs, which is something he's always done whenever he gets excited!
Here's Tyler on his first swing! whheeee!

Tyler likes being outside! It was kind of windy though - which made baby soccer really hard to play. What's baby soccer you ask? I may need to include a short clip (short because I couldn't hold the camera still because I couldn't stop laughing. Tyler LOVED it and was squealing!

Here's a group picture at the end of the day. It was definitely a fun thing to do, and I can't wait to do it again!
I'm not sure if I mentioned before, but Tyler can crawl up the stairs now! Here's a video from today of him crawling up towards me - he's pretty fast but gets tired pretty quickly!

Have a good week!

Is it just the jacket or does Tyler fill up that swing seat pretty well? It seems like every Monday he is just growing at a pretty fast rate!
