happy 38 weeks! - Tyler goes to the Aquarium!

Hi everyone! Happy April Fool's Day! No practical jokes please - Tyler doesn't like being mocked. Really.
Last week I headed to the Irvine Police Department for a free car seat inspection. Did you know that a huge percentage of car seats are supposedly installed incorrectly? I figured why not, it was close (right across from Tyler's daycare!) and free! It turned out to be a bad idea - turned out Will had installed it correctly, but the dude took it out and made me install it myself! I tried to get out of it with some whining... but was not successful. Sheesh. It took forever! Anyway, I popped by the daycare afterwards to see Tyler, but he was napping! I thought it was really cute so I took a photo of Tyler and another baby napping.
Tyler is totally over pureed baby food now. Only Olga has the patience to convince him to eat it! He is all about finger foods now - we've been giving him more peas, little wagon wheels, cantaloupe, peaches and grilled cheese sandwiches. YES! He really loves grilled cheese sandwiches!
Have I mentioned before how much Tyler loves playing with the remote control? That and my cell phone... he has a thing for electronics - like his daddy! He'll wave around the remote around and whack himself too sometimes. With my cell phone, he loves to chew on the antenna... I was worrying that he might get electrocuted until Will assured me otherwise. Will's right, right?
Tyler got to try some different cuisine this past weekend as well. Here he is at a local Korean restaurant near YogurtLand (yup, we stopped by for dessert of course!). I forget what it was called, but it reminded me a lot of a Korean drinking place from college (koko house). Yay Tyler! - and of course, the waitresses really enjoyed playing and making faces with Tyler - I'm starting to think everyone must really love babies anywhere we go - which surprises me because I would think people would see a baby and think of them crying and screaming. Must be because Tyler is so well behaved.
Yay - a new toy for Tyler - a music table! Tyler LOVES this toy so far (so far...) - he can stand up against it and push all the buttons - its great! It sings songs with letters and alphabets, and teaches colors and stuff like up/down and high/low. We've been trying to get him to move around the table to push the buttons on the other side, but so far he's just reaching across to the other side...
Tyler takes 2-3 walks a day when he's home with me and the nanny - its his favorite thing to do. Here is a picture of Tyler sleeping after Olga had left. I was in the kitchen and heard some noise and saw Mojo hanging out next to Tyler's stroller...seemed kind of suspicious...
Next cuisine - Thai food! Saturday we headed out with Will's parents to this Thai restaurant in Pasadena - Saladang or something. Wow was it far - Will's parents like it though. Tyler is busy looking at the table behind us - there was a family with an almost 2 year old boy who was throwing a huge tantrum. Tyler kept looking at the little boy - he was literally like a foot away (the tables were really close together). Tyler, as usual, was a great well behaved baby! I know that things will probably change as he gets older though...
My dad came by to visit on Saturday with my grandmother. Awww, Tyler was actually kind of afraid of my dad at first - he had a really scared look and actually shook! It took a little time for him to warm up, but he eventually let my dad hold him. Tyler is definitely going through a separation anxiety phase - I was hoping it wouldn't be so bad since he's had a nanny AND part time daycare for a few months now. Oh well.
Sunday was an exhausting day - we went to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific! The Aquarium is right around where they have the Long Beach Grand Prix - and they were setting up for the big race! It's totally like driving a course in an arcade video game! Anyway, we met up with other moms in this moms group I'm part of. It was a really nice day and we had lots of fun!
Tyler checking out the fishies that were swimming around and around.
I always enjoy the jellyfish exhibit. Here's Tyler in front of the jellyfish - too bad the picture didn't come out more clear...I wore Tyler in my beco carrier for most of the day - the aquarium was so crowded with strollers! I was even somehow able to nurse him discreetly in it also - it was definitely quite liberating not having to go to the car or something!Birds! Yes, I was worried about the bird pecking Tyler, but it turned out to be quite well behaved and was preoccupied trying to eat my hair tie. Tyler wasn't scared or anything - just very curious!
Family picture! Will and I came to the aquarium when I was pregnant - so technically Tyler's been there before too! :)
Here's a video of Tyler checking out some fish!

Tyler was knocked OUT afterwards. In the car he was quiet and the second I gave him his pacifier his eyes closed and he was out. Look at his double chin! :)

Tyler as a baller with a Spiderman headband with tag still on! He really hates anything on his head (hats, headbands, bunny ears) and will automatically go to pull it off. aww. No, we didn't buy the headband though (Will wouldn't let me), but isn't it cute?!
Tyler really IS a baller. He has matching Nike Lebron III's with Will! How cute is that! Not sure when I'll let him wear it though, since they are hard soled. You know buying those shoes were Will's idea!
Tyler also got some new pajamas this week as well . It was so hot for a while that we didn't want to put him in his pajamas with the little feet. These were great! - part of me felt a little sad that Tyler was starting to wear big boy pajamas! When I was rocking him to sleep tonight, I noticed how big he had gotten, and how long he was. He's almost a toddler!I think I mentioned this before - Baby soccer! Who knew Tyler would love it so much.

Tyler's 38 week bear picture. Looks like he's cheering! Go Tyler!

thanks for the heads up about the aquarium pics! hahahha.. it's good tyler is trying out different cuisines. you might let tyler wear the hard soled shoes before he grows out of them... i thought that too, and some of them he never wore- they'll be brand new for little bro i suppose!

i love all of tyler's expressions. i think tyler would really enjoy taking a stroll in san francisco and really appreciate the beautiful golden gate bridge. PLUS he probably needs to be exposed to Palace Buffet and Zachary's Pizza more often. OR maybe what he really needs is a trip to HOUSE OF PRIME RIB. Come visit and I'll pick you up at the airport!

by the way, i finally updated my blog. not nearly as interesting as tyler though!!

Grilled cheese sandwiches at 38 weeks and really enjoys playing with a ball. I think you are witnessing the growth of the first Chang in the NFL...
