19 weeks - Tyler learned to take a bottle again! whew!
wow this last week just flew by!
Tyler is 19 weeks now. Every Monday when I remind myself to post, I always think he's younger than he is. 19 weeks?! Wow, that's crazy! I still kind of remember being 19 weeks pregnant! Wow. So last Tuesday, (I'm not sure I mentioned in my last post), was Will and my 3 year wedding anniversary. 'm pretty sure I mentioned our nanny not showing up on Monday and all, and leaving us in quite a pickle. Will and I both worked from home on Tuesday, tag teaming taking care of Tyler, and then headed over to Hacienda Heights to pick my mom up to help us watch Tyler for Wednesday (usually my brother would drive her over since he commutes down here everyday, but he's been in travel in China). Anyway, before we leave for HH, we heat up some leftovers to eat real quick - but we totally forget in all our busy-ness (I had set up nanny interviews already). So what did we end up having for our anniversary?... drive through at taco bell! ha ha ha. Sigh. Not a big deal I guess, comes with the territory and all; I was just kind of bummed since our other anniversary (9/18) got messed up also. Oh well there's always next year.
Ahhh, how romantic - our anniversary dinner...
Anyway, so Tyler was totally refusing to take the bottle, remember? That night my mom thought she'd try to feed him some, and boy did he go cRaZy!! He was SOO mad, screaming and crying and choking and coughing. Yikes! My mom was persistent and finally got him to eat a little bit before he just passed out from sheer exhaustion. That was NOT a fun night.
Wednesday I closed myself upstairs in my room to work and my mom went at it again with Tyler. They are both pretty darn stubborn. But my mom is still more stubborn! I think anyone else would have given in (especially me) and just had me nurse him. But not my mom - I don't know what she did, but by the evening time, Tyler was willing to take a bottle! Sure, he would fuss and get angry for a little, but then he would actually take it! It was amazing.
I was so amazed again that I had to snap another picture.
My mom had plans Wednesday night so we drove her back to Hacienda Heights and waited around until she was done before bringing her back to our place. Oh yes, we also had dinner with my dad and my godbrother Alan who was visiting from Taiwan. He warned me that Tyler is going to get MUCH bigger and heavier. sigh - I already think Tyler's super heavy! My dad was playing this little game with Tyler about bugs flying, and moving Tyler's hands - he loved it - it was so cute, he would squeal and laugh. Here they are, Tyler is so smiley! Thursday our new nanny started. YES! That was quick huh! I met Amanda and just totally really liked her. My mom helped her get situated on Thursday and she was just so great. And Tyler seemed to have no problem with the bottle! She totally knows her way around with kids and is so nice and sweet and friendly. Part of me wonders if this was totally meant to be (like nanny#1 not showing up). I feel great with her and I'm excited for her to take care of Tyler. I'll need to make sure to take a picture of Tyler with his new nanny tomorrow! My dad came down to pick up my mom, so we didn't need to make another trip back to Hacienda Heights. whew!
Here's Tyler and his grandparents!
Friday we all headed out to the grand opening of Red Mango in Irvine since they were giving out free yogurt! Ehh, not too impressed with it - its totally like Pinkberry and I'm still a YogurtLand fan. But free is free! Per our nanny's suggestion, we busted out our umbrella stroller! Ohl my gosh, I think Tyler totally loved it! I had no idea we could put him in it so early - but he liked that he could see so much more. This stroller is actually a kate spade stroller - one of the very first things I bought when I found out I was pregnant. I am SO stoked to get to use it!
Tyler's a big boy now in his big boy stroller!
Saturday we ran a bunch of errands and bought some house stuff. I love buying home stuff! :) That night we headed over to Fashion Island for their Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. It was pretty lame - the place was so packed that we couldn't even see the stage where they were putting on some Christmas musical. Basically we just waited and waited until they finally lit the tree. At least we were waiting right in front of the Kate Spade store, so I was able to windowshop to pass the time. :)
Here's the only shot we could get with the three of us and the tree. :)
Sunday we went to the Great Park Balloon ride - free of charge! I've been reading about this Hot Air balloon, seeing it in the distance for a while now, and I've been really wanting to ride it. Too bad it was pretty foggy - but it was still pretty cool. I've never been in a hot air balloon before, and it was definitely feeling really high - I think the operator was saying it goes up to 400+ feet. Yikes!
So high up!Tyler's first boarding pass! The view from the top from our side - part of the old El Toro Marine Air Station - its huge! We were allowed to move around to the other side once we got to the top, but eh, I didn't really want to move from my spot ... at all!
Tyler was curiously looking around while we were up there. Here we are - family hot air balloon shot!
Today we are again without a nanny - but its not anyone's fault - our schedules are just all kind of messed up right now. Hopefully everything will settle into place soon.
Misc pictures of the week: Yogurt Land! One of my friends mentioned that I didn't mention YogurtLand in last week's post - which is so strange, because I know we had went - maybe even went twice! hehe. I guess with all the stuff going on I forgot to mention it. So here's our YL shot from this pass weekend!
Awww, here's Tyler with his bottle. He'll take a bottle now, yay!
Tyler's having a meeting with his friends. They're all listening attentively.
I remember a time when Tyler was younger, and he hated getting his diaper changed! Now he enjoys looking at all the dangly stuff hanging, and even pulls stuff down occasionally! Tyler is ALL about his rings in his car seat - he loves them - grasps them in both hands as soon as we put him in the seat.
He even holds onto them while he sleeps!Tyler and daddy shopping at Lowes - we got a new mirror yay!
Tyler LOOOVVEESS his jumperoo - he goes crazy on it now and screams and squeals!
Here's Tyler's 19 week teddy bear picture:And the video of the week... Tyler pre-bath time! So every night before Tyler's bath, we strip him down to his diaper on the bed and then Will plays with Tyler - we call it helicopter kissing and its basically Will kissing Tyler continuously on both of his arms - Tyler loves it and squeals and laughs - he totally knows its coming now!
Until next time! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :) Yay - Tyler is going to meet his cousins for the first time this week!
The little man knows that hellicopter kissing is coming as soon as his onesie comes off. I don't even have to do anything now to get him to start laughing.
