Tyler is totally teething. Drool all over the place. Gnawing on everything. Super fussy! Sigh. We're getting a lot less sleep these days, and he's being fussy a lot of the time when he's awake. :( All we can do is try to wait it out...
Here's Tyler thinking about having teeth! Yikes!
This week is kind of like an anniversary for us. It was this time last year that I found out I was pregnant! Yup! Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 - first day I got my flu shot (and signed a form confirming I wasn't pregnant), first time I voted (ever!) and first time I got a positive home pregnancy test. I remember thinking I had major PMS and then being like ooohh. Our lives are completely different now... what a difference a year makes!
Our nanny came for the first time last week on Tuesday. She's great, and I think I just need to get used to having someone else take care of Tyler. It's really hard and weird at the same time. I'm seriously only comfortable leaving him with Will, and probably my mom. Anyone else I'm super weary. I just need to get over it already! One of the things she did though that I was happy about - she got Tyler to hang out and play in his kate spade bouncer! Yay! Every time I had put him in it before, he got really upset so I had given up trying. There's hope for him yet! :)
Halloween was fun - there were so many kids that came by our house for candy, and so many cute costumes! There was a group of junior high-ish girls that came out, and in the group of like punk rocker, and silly costumes, there was an Asian girl dressed as a doctor! Haha, that made me laugh. I bet that was her mom's idea... We decided to take Tyler next door to our neighbors' house for his first official trick or treat - but as soon as the door opened (they weren't home though, it was their roommate) Tyler started screaming and crying! I guess he's still too young. But what was exciting that day was he was doing lots of half-turns! We've been trying to interest him in rolling over, and here he was doing it halfway! Will and I were very excited. :)
Tyler's first Halloween! SuperBaby!
The haunted house down the street:
So Friday was my first day back to work - and it wasn't bad! Of course, I think its going to take my brain a little time to get back into work mode, but hopefully it'll be quick and painless. I'm very lucky though that I get to work from home - or who knows how hard that transition would be (leaving Tyler!). We met up with some riends from work for lunch at my favorite sushi place - SagamiTei. Yum! Tyler met someone new that day - Channing! He likes to meet new people, so don't hesitate to come and visit and meet him!
Saturday we headed to Dave&Busters at the Irvine Spectrum for one of Will's coworker's daughter's (Hannah) 1st birthday party! I've never been to a kid's birthday party come to think of it. I've actually never really liked D&B, I don't know why - I guess I just always thought that video games and alcohol don't mix! That or too many kids running around...haha.. . I dunno...But this time it was different since we were there for a kid party - they had rented out one of the pool table areas and had catered lunch too! I finally got a chance to meet a lot of Will's coworkers that I had only heard about - and they were all really nice and cool! Also, thank goodness, Tyler was a good baby and was in a great mood. Whew.
Here's Tyler at D&B - not interested in shooting pool yet.
Here's Will with his coworker Jason and his wife Michelle! Tyler has a weird expression.
Sunday we headed over to my parent's place in Hacienda Heights to see them (they just got back from Japan) and Kareen/Andy (who were visiting from SF). Everybody wanted to play with Tyler and hold him. He is so good-natured sometimes when it comes to other people!
Here we are with my sister Kareen and her hubby Andy -
Aww look how cute Tyler is here!
Andy was playing with Tyler's feet and Tyler was totally enthralled with them!
Today was a tough day, with me being back at work, and Tyler teething and refusing to take a bottle. My poor nanny! I hope we don't scare her away with Tyler being fussy and unhappy. She was quite amazing though - today I was downstairs nursing, and a spider crawled on me and I completely freaked out! She was totally calm and killed the spider immediately! bonus points++ !! Oh and guess what? TYLER ROLLED OVER TODAY. YES. who didn't get to see it? ME! My mom AND my nanny both were there, but I was upstairs working away. Sigh. Totally bummed me out - and he wouldn't do it again. Oh well, if I didn't see it, it doesn't count... right? Here he is thinking about maybe trying to roll over...
Update! In the time between that last paragraph and now, Tyler rolled over! and Will and I BOTH got to see it! It was wonderful, amazing, awe-inspiring, awesome, etc. He was playing on our bed before bathtime and Will had rolled him on to his tummy, and then we both watched as he rolled himself back! Awwwww... ok I feel better now. :)
Misc pictures:
Can't forget a bumbo picture (with my dad!)

We were at Toys'R'Us picking up a gift and came across another Pikachu for Tyler to make friends with! Although, he looks a little worried here...
