16 weeks, Happy Halloween!
Hi everyone! Happy Halloween! Tyler is 16 weeks today and let us know that he's getting older by FUSSING lots! AHhh! I seriously think he's teething or something - all the signs seem to be there. He's drooling like crazy, gnawing on his hand (whatever part of it he can get into his mouth), chomping on his pacifier, being fussy...and he even got pretty mad a couple times today when I tried to nurse him! Sigh.
Here's our little Superman!
Wow this week went by really fast. Thank goodness the fires are under control now (I think?) and the air outside is much more breathable. Last Tuesday Will worked from home (after my constant badgering and hint dropping) so the day was much more enjoyable. I think I was even able to sneak out for a manicure/pedicure. Yay that was nice! Wednesday my grandmother came over and cooked us up lots of yummy food again! It was funny, she actually asked that I pick up some YogurtLand while I was out buying groceries in the morning. I was like - SURE THING! Yummmmm. I never turn down yogurtland. mmmmm.. Thursday I watched Tyler really closely and got him to take a lot of good naps. I'm really trying to get him on some sort of better schedule so he doesn't over-stimulate himself. Gotta watch him like a hawk!
Friday Will worked from home (YAY) and I got to head out to South Coast Plaza to do some dress shopping since we were going to a wedding the next day. It. Ooh and I also got my brows waxed at the Shu Uemura boutique there - the chick that did them was REALLY pretty! She was telling me about this Halloween party they were going to and how she was dressing up as an angel (with her looks I'm sure it was definitely one of those sexy angels!). Reminded me of our last Halloween. I should post a picture! This was my 'last' party before finding out I was pregnant. Actually, I think I was already pregnant at that time but had seriously no idea (we were more fertile than we thought). The party was 10/28 I think and I got a positive home pregnancy test on 11/7. It was a really fun party though- good way to end the partying. :)
Saturday was the wedding at the Bower Museum in Santa Ana - very nice venue! The bride is a really really old family friend of ours and it was seriously like a crazy Chinese School reunion! Growing up, my family was heavily involved in the local Chinese School (heck, my dad was one of the founders of HHACS - Hacienda Heights Area Chinese School) and there was this large group of families that had kids all about the same age that did everything together. It was crazy seeing that we had all grown up and stuff - definitely a lot of fun. The bride was beautiful and (small world) her maid of honor was actually one of my bridesmaids! So all in all, it was a really fun night, and Tyler was GREAT! He slept through dinner and then was in a happy mood smiling at people, and letting them hold him. I have a wonderful baby. :) Only not so fun part of the night was that we forgot to bring the bottle of pumped breastmilk with us, so we ended up feeding Tyler in the car. It wouldn't have been so bad if my dress was at least a tiny bit nursing friendly (which it was not) so I basically was like half naked in the car. NOT fun, good thing it was dark.
Me and Tyler! Doh - totally meant to take off the bib! He has such a cute little sweater vest on beneath!
Here's me and the bride - isn't she beautiful! She was a Miss LA Chinatown!
Here's me and Connie, my best friend from High School (she was also one of my bridesmaids!):
Ahh how cute, I've known these gals since we were little girls!
Group shot - we're all so much older now!
The ceremony:
Sunday was another full day. We headed up to Will's parents place and had lunch there with them and his Grandmother and 3rd Aunt. Tyler was great again! He played with them and coo'ed at them and then was a good boy and napped for 2 hours. After he woke up we headed with Will's parents to this TV/Electronics store in Monterey Park - I think its run by a Vietnamese/Chinese guy. Anyway, we had been there a while back (when I was still pregnant) talking to the owner about buying a TV and today was the day! Will's parents came with us since we needed them to help drive it down to our place in their minivan. So, yup, we now have a new TV! Will has been wanting to get one for a while but I told him he couldn't until we find out what to do with our current one (Sony 36" Wega CRT - soo big and heavy!). I had talked to my mom and they said they could use it, yay! - and that Thanksgiving would be a perfect time to get it over there since all the guys (all the son-in-laws) would be in town to help move it. So now we have a new tv stand, with the new TV (Sony 46" XBR LCD HD), and the old TV and stand sitting next to it waiting for the move - which won't be for a month! Argh. Will sure acted quick though !
Here's Will and Tyler with his grandmother and his 3rd aunt.
Here's Tyler at his photo shoot! The place we went (Picture People at Santa Ana's Main Place) was super packed with little kids in all different types of costumes. It was so cute! He did really great - crawling around on the floor (I actually had the photographer put a white blanket down, she wanted him on the white floor with all the dirty shoe prints!)

These two (and the first one from the post) are the poses that we actually chose:

Our two TVs now. It's like a big and little brother TV or something.
Here's Tyler's 16 week picture!
Tyler's actually enjoying tummy time now - although he's showing absolutely no interest in turning over. I don't think the thought has ever even crossed his mind...
Every night now, we put Tyler to sleep in his crib.. but I still miss him! But it's ok, since I get to stare at him through our monitor:
I figured since Tyler always has the same expressions in all his pictures, I should post some different ones. Here's an unhappy Tyler!
This one was mid-yawn - reminded me of a whale or something. heehee.
Ahhh, a calm sleeping Tyler.
So Tyler has been grabbing things for a while now, and he'll even hold onto them while he's sleeping! During car rides, he'll get a good tight grasp and then fall asleep. He seems so intent on holding on to the rings!
Tyler recently got reacquainted with his old pal Pikachu!

Wish us luck this week - our new nanny starts tomorrow! I'm returning to the working world as of this Friday (I think) although I am extremely lucky that I'll be able to work from home mostly. I'm definitely worried about the transition and having Tyler being taken care of by the nanny - but I have my fingers crossed that they'll hit it off right away! Till next time!
