12 weeks old
Helllo! 12 weeks tonight - 3 months next week!We had a very nice week. Now that it's October, I'm really going to make an effort to enjoy this last month off and make every day special! No more lazying around the house watching ER and Law and Order reruns!
Let's see what's been going on this week:
- Will turned 31 and I turned 27...big deal...hah!
- met some great moms from the OC Baby Wearing group
- had lunch with another new mommy Julie and her 6 month old Vincent
- Tyler hung out with his grandparents
- Tyler had more visitors - Tony and Vivian
- Tyler watched a movie for the first time in a theater!
This pass week was both Will (31st) and my (27th) birthdays. What a difference from all our other birthdays we've had together! We opted to celebrate at home with Tyler and a little ice cream cake! I can see why birthdays aren't that meaningful after you have a baby; but heck - I'd think I should get to celebrate at least up to 30! oh well. Tuesday night we went to Lowes to get some home improvement stuff - especially garden gloves. We have plans sometime this month to finally get rid of those weeds!
Here's Tyler and daddy looking at sprinkler heads:
On Wednesday these ladies came over in the morning to show me these different babywearing wraps and slings. They part of this OC BabyWearing group (that I just recently joined) and also this group of Asian American Working moms (which I will be soon!). One of the ladies had a little girl who was just a week+ older than Tyler - we had an instant connection! Too bad I didn't get pictures of Tyler and her little one Morgan together.
Here's Tyler and me in a Kalea Sling pouch. I really liked this one - Tyler fell right asleep in it, and it keeps him really close to me.
Thursday I met another mommy Julie for lunch at Corner Bakery at the Tustin Marketplace. Julie has a little one Vincent that's 6 months! I remember back in December of last year when I was just 2 months or so pregnant and she was already 6 months! Vincent is so cute - I can't wait until Tyler is bigger and they're going to be playing together!
Here's Tyler and his new friend Vincent!
Friday and Saturday we interviewed a LOT of nannies. Some were ehh..and some definitely had potential. We're still working on making a decision, but who knows how everything is going to work. I'm really stressed about it, about leaving Tyler in general, and about leaving Tyler with someone who doesn't know how to take care of such a small baby. SUPER stressed. sigh. Just thinking about it stresses me out even more. Ahhhhhhhh.
Saturday evening we met up with Will's parents at South Coast Plaza and walked around for a bit before heading to Scott's Seafood for dinner. I love their Chilean seabass. It really is to die for. Tyler was a good little baby for the most part, even took a bottle while we were there! But by the end of the night he wanted to be walked around and loved looking at all the ceiling fans.
Here's Tyler, Will and Will's parents.
Here's Tyler checking out the dessert menu:
Sunday we made a quick Costco and Ralphs run in the morning before meeting up with Tony and Vivian (and some of Tony's friends) for Dimsum at China Garden. After that, we had... YogurtLand of course! Yum! And then back to our place where there was a lot of foos ball going on and Tony took some great photos of us and the baby! We'll have to advertise his services - he's available for weddings! :) The next three shots are from his camera.
Family shot!
Tyler and me!
This is Tyler's big grin - I think he was doing this in response to Vivian's tongue curling. He loves that!
Here's Tyler and Tony! - doh the only one I took came out super blurry!! I'll add it here the next time they meet! In the meantime, here's a picture of Tony.. LADIES - he's single! :) I just realized you can't see the guns in this picture, tsktsk hah!
Here's Tyler and Vivian!
Yumm YogurtLand!
This morning I decided that I was going to take Tyler out, and we headed out at noon to this Movie theater not too far from us. I had seen this theater before but didn't realize until one of the nannies that we interviewed told us that they play older movies for cheap. I found their website and movies are only $1.50! Its been so long since we've seen a movie, so anything old is pretty much still new to us. We got to watch HairSpray and The Simpsons! Whoohoo! I even nursed Tyler during the Simpsons since the theater was pretty much empty except one person in the way front. Tyler was great, he nursed and then fell asleep for the rest of the time. For Hairspray, I kept him in the Bjorn and we hung out near the door so I could move him around as he slept. Yay it was fun. :)
I find myself overwhelmed sometimes when I'm looking at Tyler - he is just so precious to us. It's so amazing, like all parents must feel this way towards their kids - and you never could describe this feeling until you actually become a mom or a dad. It's like being part of something so much bigger than anything else. I was looking at pictures of Tyler when he was 3 weeks and now he's almost 3 months. I'm already starting to miss him and I haven't even gone back to work yet. sigh.
