happy 10 weeks!

guess what! tomorrow is Will and my 9 year anniversar
y! NINE years! no, we haven't been married for 9 years, but we've been together for that long! I'm excited because my grandmother is coming over tomorrow and that means that Will and I may actually go out to have a little anniversary dinner just the two of us! whoohoo! If we can get out, we're totally going to anjin - this great japanese-style korean bbq place in costa mesa since it's totally un-baby friendly!

who knew 9 years ago when we met that we'd be where we were today - with such a cute baby! :)
let's see, what's been going on this week. Tyler is finally starting to sleep more! The first time he slept for about 6 hours I thought it was a total fluke. But then he did it again a couple nights later! Now he's pretty consistent in the 4-6 hour stretch for the first part of the night - wake up and eat - and then sleep another 3-4. We're definitely getting more sleep now - and I can't wait until he actually sleeps through the ENTIRE night! ... but I'm not holding my breath just yet. Also, he's smiling a lot more now and actually kind of interacting with us! Here's him looking at his little toys while we change his diaper. Wednesday my brother dropped by for lunch and Tyler was in a good mood! Wednesday night Will took care of Tyler all by himself for a few hours. It was his first time being alone with our little one. One of my good friends from work is leaving to go to Colorado, so a few of us got together for a going away dinner. I'm so bummed she's leaving! But it was nice to go out and not have to wear a nursing bra or shirt. And not worry about getting spit up on my clothes! It was definitely a nice few hours out. Unfortunately things didn't go so smoothly at home - it made us realize that we need to get Tyler more comfortable with being alone with Will! Here's Tyler and Lindon.
Thursday I attempted to take Tyler out to Target. It was tough. He was very unhappy in his carseat as I was pulling into a parking spot and I tried to soothe him in the back seat unsuccessfully. As I was sitting in the back seat with the car door open, this car pulls into the spot right next to mine! What the heck - there are like a ton of other spots open, and I'm not even that close to the entrance - she just HAD to pick that spot. I was very annoyed. Anyway I gave up and decided we were going home - I couldn't bring a screaming baby into Target! But as soon as I pulled out of my parking spot, he calmed down. hmm. Temporary? I drove around the parking lot and he was totally calm! Wow - so I pulled back into a spot (farther this time) and this time we were able to get him out calmly into the shopping cart. Whew. I bought this playmat thing for him to see if he would like it - he did - except the one I got was so cheap - I'm going to return it and get a nicer one. Here's Tyler with his playmat thing - he's saying - um.. can you get me a better quality one please?... This weekend Tyler had visitors again! Yay Tyler loves visitors - so if you guys haven't met him - just give me a call/email and we can set something up!! Saturday morning, my friend/coworker (boy I would die without her at work) Lara came by. She brought LOTS of yummy food - ooh it was so delicious! It was really good seeing her and catching up on all the 'news' going on at work. :) Here's me, Tyler and Lara: Saturday night Antonio visited as well. He had just drove in from Vegas where he lives (lucky him!). The last time he saw Tyler he was just a week+ old - so he's definitely gotten much bigger. Tyler was in such a good mood! We got a ton of him smiling but this one is my favorite. Both Lara and Antonio told me that Tyler is actually smaller in pictures than he looks on the pictures on this site. The camera adds 10 pounds I guess. haha. Yeah, ok , so maybe he isn't as HUGE as I make him out to be. but he definitely is big.

Sunday Will played golf. YES. How nice of me to allow this huh - jk. He hasn't played forever- and who knows when he'll play again. Weekends are when I usually get ti
me to myself and Will takes care of Tyler. We still had a fun day though - we got up right after Will left and I decided to take Tyler for a walk around our neighborhood while it was still nice and cool. I LOVE our neighborhood - in my exploring I came across a few parks and also found that the elementary school is super close! It felt good to be out and about and getting some fresh air. Afterwards, we met up with the them for lunch at BJs. Here's Antonio, Will, Yao and Jeff.
This morning we went for another walk in the other direction. Came across MORE parks and tennis courts too! Seriously, Irvine is a super nice place to live. :)

Misc pictures of the week:
Here's Tyler's 2 month Target portrait picture (we took it 2 weeks ago). Target was definitely way cheaper than Kiddie Kandids, but the quality wasn't so great. At least he was awake this time though!
Whatcha' looking at?
Tyler's getting better at sitting in his bumbo too (no he's not naked here). This picture is so funny, he's like - yeah, what is it...what do you want.
We've been slowly getting Tyler to take naps in his crib in his own room. Gasp! Yeah! We even got him to sleep in there one night - but I found that I missed him a lot and had Will bring him back to our bed. Maybe the 3 month mark we'll start putting him in his room overnight - but right now I love having him between us! Here's Tyler napping in his pretty nursery! And here's Tyler's 10 week picture! I keep meaning to take that tag off the bear...More next time!

Tyler, be careful of blackmail pictures. Those parental people are pretty sneaky.
