Tyler's almost 5 days old!

Tyler will be 5 days old tonight! And he is growing! On Wednesday, he was weighing in at 6 pounds 14 ounces, 3 ounces less than when he was born. Yesterday's doctor appointment he was a little less - having loss about a total of 4 ounces. This morning though, he was back to 7 pounds 2 ounces! He's now MORE than he was at birth! The nurse thought it was kind of a lot to gain in one day too, she even double checked on another scale. He's getting lots of milk I guess. :)

He's starting to look a bit more yellow though. Our pediatrician said that jaundice peaks usually day 4-5, and thats where he is right now! Hopefully when we go back on Monday to check his levels it'll have gone down from today and yesterday. In the meantime, we're exposing him to some indirect sunlight (I've been feeding him in our tub with the sunlight coming in - he seems like to it!). Considering the heel pricks he's had to endure yesterday and today, the doctors all say that he doesn't fuss as much as other babies and that he's a good baby! They've assured us that his fussiness at night is not our fault - that's the baby schedule! When he was still in my tummy, he would sleep all day since I was moving about (which he does now) and at night time when I went to bed he would be awake and kicking up a storm (his most awake fussy hours are literally 11pm - 6am - like my sleeping schedule exactly before he was born!). They said we should just try to feed him more during the day, but it'll just take time for him to get adjusted. sigh. oh well - he is just so cute during the day, its like a totally different baby at night! Last night we tried keeping the light on and it actually kind of calmed him a bit - but not for long. keeping our fingers crossed for tonight!
