I can't believe 2 weeks have gone by since Tyler has entered our lives - but at the same time I can't imagine our lives without him! Sometimes I wonder what we did everyday without having him to devote all our time to - I think about how I used to be obsessed with playing Tetris on my DS and it just seems like SUCH a long time ago!
Let's see, what's been going on since last week. Oh yes, Tyler had a bad day Wednesday night - which caused me to have a horrible night! As a first time mom, I think it's totally normal for me to freak out and stress about everything - plus it doesn't help that everything on the internet I read contradicts each other when it comes to newborns and eating. He was being super fussy Wednesday night, which was totally out of the blue - and in my panic I made us two appointments to see lactation consultants on Thursday. He is such a performer though - at BOTH appointments - he was GREAT! But when we'd get home he'd be fussy again. I'm finally realizing to stop believing everything I read - and let Tyler truly be the boss. He'll tell me when he's hungry! No more waking him up - especially since he seems to be gaining weight well. We have his 2 week checkup tomorrow and I'm dying to know what he weighs now. He still seems so tiny! The nurse at the clinic was a bit worried about his color and urged us to get his bilirubin level checked again - which we did. Tyler got pricked for the 4th time at the doctor's office - but this time he didn't even make a peep! He was SO good! All in all lately, he's been a great baby. He sleeps long hours through the night (which worried me lots at first) and is alert a lot of the time looking around making funny faces!Oh yes! Tyler got his first piece of mail! It was very exciting - from Auntie Carolyn and Uncle Will and their little boy Ricky. Thanks you guys!
Plus we've finally started having visitors! I know some of you guys are asking when you guys can come - just give me a call on my cell and we'll set something up for you guys to meet Tyler! For some reason Will/I are having issues with sending text messages out though, so we haven't been able to reply to any text messages. Please don't be offended if I send you straight to the anti-bacterial soap first though. :)Here's Tyler and Uncle Yao! That teddy bear is SO soft!
Here is Tyler with Auntie Joan, Uncle Jeff and his big brother buddy Jake! I remember when Jake was still just a little baby - one day Tyler will be a little boy running around too! Uncle Antonio visited too but we didn't get a picture for some reason. :(
On Saturday, we got the Harry Potter book in the mail! Will had pre-ordered it ages ago and I remember wondering if I was going to get a chance to read it since the release date was so close to our due date. I was sure at least I'd be able to watch the movie (nope!). Its going to be a very slow process getting through it this time since I don't have long uninterrupted moments anymore! I'm lending it to Kareen in August so I better hurry!
On Sunday my parents and Kareen/Andy came over. Yay! I was so excited for Kareen to meet Tyler - they just happened to be down in soCal for a wedding this weekend! Too bad they couldn't stay longer though - hopefully they will visit again soon! Here's a bunch of pictures from Sunday:Me, Tyler & Kareen
Will, me, Tyler & my parents
Will, me, Tyler & Kareen/Andy (Tyler will be calling them 2nd aunt and uncle in Chinese)

Kareen & Tyler
I love this picture of Tyler sleeping! He likes to sleep with his hands up near his head - that is when he gets them out of his swaddle! We call him Houdini sometimes since he gets out of some of Will's tight swaddles!
That's about it that's been going on around here. Will has started working again this week - but I've convinced him to work this week at home. I'm not ready to be all by myself all day with Tyler! We're calling this a 'transition' period where I do everything and pretend Will isn't here but he's here for back up purposes. Today has been exhausting already though! Tyler has eaten around the clock and then I got a pretty bad headache. GREAT huh. At least Will works close enough to home (seriously pretty darn close) that if I really needed him to jet home he'd be home in 10 minutes-ish. So whew - thats a relief!Don't forget - you can subscribe through feedblitz (in the right column) to get email notifications when I update!

Hey Kathy,
This is Nyk--don't know if you remember me--we met ages ago (I'm SF SOPi). Well, I stumbled upon your website and just wanted to congratulate you and Will on your beautiful new baby! He's adorable! And he looks especially cute in that 2nd picture!

Hey Kath & Will! Tyler is adorable. Congratulations! You both look great! Glad to see you're all doing well. Awesome blog too. :D
1) That smile really is cute.
2) Yes, it's amazing how life changes with kids. Coming home with Annie was like OMG, we actually have to keep this baby.
3) You know Tyler is the boss when you start referring to your friends as Auntie and Uncle.
4) Auntie Grace is hoping for that book when Auntie Kareen visits Houston for Cousin Annie's birthday, so you better get going.
HAHHA. Uncle Tony is undercover CIA so that is why he doesn't appear in photographs.
I'm super glad we got a chance to meet two week old Tyler! Every week is different!
I know what you totally mean about how amazing it is to think about not having the little one in your life... I suppose we did see a lot more movies and play games before them. You'll still have more in your future, just a little later. :)
too cute too cute...
