3 more weeks!

it is SOO time to update my blog! I don't know why I procrastinate so much - I used to be so good at doing it! I think it might just get worse too...I figure if I dont do it now, I'll never do it and then this whole blog will die. how sad huh. Although I've recruited Will to help with the updating once the baby is here - it is kathyANDwill.blogspot after all... 3 more weeks! 3 more weeks until our expected due date! o m g - how insane is that. three?!! and honestly, who knows when our little one is going to make his appearance - early? late? I don't really care when he comes though - whenever he's ready is best! There's a lot of women on this baby message board that I lurk at that are trying any possible way to rush the arrival of their little one - but totally not me! I'm going to enjoy these last few weeks (especially since I'm officially on maternity leave as of least week)! love it love it!

so whats been going on? oh yes, Will and I (I think) have every material-wise ready for the baby (ok so a few things are in transit but you know what I mean). Now its about waiting and being excited, and reading the tons of baby books that my older sister lent to me. There's so much information there! although I do find that I spend many many hours playing tetris on my DS. ... I know right? .. no comment.

lets see, whats been going on these past three weeks...

aha- first things first - we had our baby shower/housewarming a few weeks ago! it went great! most people, when they buy a new house, they take their time in getting furniture, painting, etc. not us! we were seriously on overdrive since we wanted to have everything ready for the baby - plus I convinced Will that the harder we worked in the beginning - the more we'd appreciate it near the end when we could just relax (which is what we're doing now!). It was really great seeing all our friends come out to our new place. The food was really yummy and foosball and the Wii were really popular too! there are really just too many photos from that day - so I just picked a couple random ones.

Here's all the parents - from the left: Will's parents, then Andy's (kareen's husband) parents, and then my parents.
my parents and us.
here's kareen and andy next to the Celebrity Baby game! Object was to guess the name of the baby pictured and their famous parents! Here's me and Will !here's a group shot of all our friends that were able to make it! thanks everyone!
here's us having dinner in our backyard around the little firepit in the corner! we were just missing some marshmallows!
the weekend after that was father's day - will's parents came down and we took them out to lunch. and afterwards we had dinner with some friends at Scott's Seafood. Now, I've been to the one before at Jack London Square up north in Oakland, and I remember it not being so yummy. But this time around, I got the sea bass and it was SOOO delicious. I MUST have it again soon.

here's us and Will's parents - and a yummy ice cream cake!
last weekend Will had his 6 month checkup for his lasik procedure. Not only are his eyes fine, but they actually improved from his check up 3 months ago! I am SO jealous of him not needing to wear contacts. lucky him! next year I'm going to get it for sure (supposed to wait until you're done breastfeeding and stuff). although I did ask my doctor a couple appointments ago if I could wear my contacts during labor and she said Yes! whoohoo! :) We also finished the last of our prenatal classes - now if only I could remember everything we learned! We went through a bunch - preparing for childbirth, breastfeeding, baby saver, taking care of babies - but I think the one that I remember most is the carseat class. very helpful huh.

Here's will and our little practice baby - you have to hit them pretty hard if they're choking!
Here are pictures of our finished nursery! I love the way the blue came out - the pictures actually have the walls a little lighter than they are in real life. The second picture is more accurate I think. I didn't want it to be like baby blue or anything too cutsey - and I'm definitely not a fan of cartoon characters and stuff like that either! So I searched high and low (on the internet) and was able to pull together a bunch of different pieces! I'm so excited about our baby being in this room!

whoohoo! I finally updated! I am SOO proud of myself! now I can rest easier knowing that its done. although the next couple weeks I'm probably going to be updating more since I am home all day now and sometimes I get frustrated from tetris and need a break. :)
