we're all moved in to our new house! ok - so we still have quite a few boxes in the garage, but I have a feeling many of them are not going to be unpacked for QUITE a while. moving wasn't that bad - we actually hired movers this time and my parents/brother and Will's parents were a lot of help also! closing escrow seemed super stressful - things kept coming up and for a second there it seemed that our escrow company wasn't going to be able to close in time due to paperwork issues - whew thank goodness it all worked itself out. When we went to the bank to get the cashier's check for our downpayment - the teller was like: "This is the largest cashier's check I've ever issued!" - he seemed pretty young though - but it was funny all the same. Here's Will on the phone with our escrow company when we were at the Title company trying to sort some issues out:
My brother actually took a lot of pictures on our moving day but I haven't gotten them from him yet - I'll try to add them to this post if I remember! We lived at Watermarke for almost a year and a half! It was definitely a very VERY comfortable place to live - super close to the 405 (before traffic starts), 3 tennis courts that Will and I used ALL the time before I became pregnant, great view off our balcony of a large green lawn, etc. Although we did have a crazy neighbor downstairs who would turn his TV on really loud late at night - drove me nuts! We're not in college anymore! But here's a before and after shot of our living room. Bye bye!
Oh yes, one of my best friends Shirley was in town a couple weeks ago! She's getting married end of this month in Taiwan - and I CANT BE THERE since I can't travel (doctor's orders). What really sucks is cuz I'm maid of honor and HOW many times in your life does a best friend get married? sigh. took me a while to get used to the idea, but I've accepted that I won't be there. It was great hanging out, and we even chose out a wedding dress for her here one day - she looked so great in it! The night before we moved we all went out to dinner at bucca di beppo (probably not the BEST idea since we weren't even done packing yet, hehe) and had a blast! Here's the group picture:
We also had our first 3d/4d ultrasound appointment! It was so cute watching our little baby in there - he would yawn every once in a while too! I'm so excited to see and meet our little one - I wonder who he's going to look like! :) I'm hoping like Will! hehe.
Last weekend we painted the spare bedrooms 'smoky blue'. I LOVE the way the color came out! I don't remember painting being so tiring, even with my dad and brother's help. I've decided that next time we're going to paint a room - we're going to shell out the money and hire some professionals to do it! Sadly the stuff you see on the floor is all we have so far for the baby's room. yes! Don't worry though - we ordered the crib/dresser/shelf/rocker and they're on their way! The two frames are these cute pictures of little chinese pigs - since our baby is going to be born in the year of the golden pig!
Today was a big day - our first BBQ at our new home! (Will bought a grill earlier this week - took forever to assemble!). The family came over around 11-noonish- and stayed till about 4-5ish. Everything went great! Will's parents, aunts and uncle and grandmother came, and my parents, grandmother and brother came also. We ate everything we prepared! How many bbq's does that happen? I think we probably didn't have enough food - but I didn't think we'd go through like 20+ shish kabobs, kalbi and chicken! It was nice 'hosting' something at a home home - our home! We used to invite a lot of friends over all the time when we first moved down to Orange County and were living in South Coast Mesa but when we moved to Watermarke we were very much more low key. I'm sure things will be more busy at our new home once the baby gets here! :)Here's all the moms (and mom-to-be me! hehe). That's me, Will's mom, his 2nd aunt and 3rd aunt in the backrow; and my mom, my grandmother and Will's grandmother in the front row. See my pretty tulips on the table?
Here's Will's uncle and aunt trying out the foosball table. Yay - we finally have room to put down the table! There was this great spot for it when we were living in Berkeley and South Coast Metro, but at our Watermarke place we had to decide between the dining table and the foosball table - and the dining table won..
Here's Will and his new grill! No more grilling at the community pool or in the adjoining parking lot during our Berkeley days! :)
hopefully I'll get better at updating! :)
