no title here

hello hello! even I was getting annoyed with not updating. but I just hate updating without pictures!

lets see, whats gone on the last couple weeks. Will can now see without his contacts! I'm so jealous - in the mornings he just opens his eyes and BAAM! - and here I am still scrambling for my glasses. sigh. I'm so jealous! we've decided to stop looking at condos in Irvine and will be concentrating fully on single family residences only. Why? Cuz HOA's are just ridiculously high for most place in Irvine and Will's parents want us to have a yard (which most condos don't have). onward with the search!

So I'm going to update based on what pictures I have on my camera. :) I get bored seeing all text also. A couple of weekends ago (the weekend Will got his Lasik actually!) we stopped by this Chinese Community Center in Rosemead. I've been to this place TONS of times when I was in high school - whether it was a violin competition, or a orchestra performance or a chinese folk dancing performance. This time though, it was for my dad! My dad is this year's President of his college's Alumni Association - his college is called 'National Taiwan University' and is the best college in Taiwan. I'm not just saying that either - plus my dad's an engineer too and in Taiwan its really hard to get into the coveted degrees (Engineering, Doctor, hm I don't know what else...) and its based totally on their test scores. Enough bragging about my dad though (although it was his birthday yesterday!), but here's a picture I took of him on stage. I thought that was cool. :) The event was a wealth management seminar sponsored by his alumni association and an Accountants association.

Speaking of presidents - I'm no longer the president of the HB/SB Boeing Asian American Professional Association! I say that with relief because I just have so much stuff going on and its such a relief to have one less thing to worry about. However, I'm not off the hook - its written in our bylaws that the President stays on for another year as Chairwoman. Ahhh! Oh well. Hopefully my last thing I will be leading was last week when we got our new board members and previous year's old members together for lunch. Here's a picture of our lunch at this Chinese buffet restaurant (where we're having our Lunar New Year Celebration Luncheon next week). Its nice to see more young people on the Board of Directors this year - hopefully they'll bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas!

Guess what came last week in the mail? Our FIRST EVER BABY purchase! yes yes. I don't remember if I mentioned it before. But, it's a Kate Spade rocker and stroller! I know, how lame and wastefull (I see you rolling your eyes) but I LOVE KATE SPADE and we got it for much cheaper than retail price (yay Ebay!) and well, well, I just LOVE KATE SPADE! I've been eyeing this really nice Kate Spade Blanket, and I promise that will be it. maybe.

what else has been going on. last weekend we had friends in town from Taiwan. I sometimes think its easier to see friends from far away than those that are just like an hour away. We actually made the drive up to Torrance last weekend. Amazing! And it wasn't even really that bad (ok, so I sleep on the car..) Our friends have the most adorable little boy - its so weird because I remember him when he was a tinnnny baby and now's he like 16 months old! We played Guitar Hero on the PS2 (I'm actually quite good at it considering it was my first time). Will/I find it so easy to be homebodies these days, its nice to get out of our apartment and do something. Saturday night we were out for dinner at this delicious Japanese BBQ place in Costa Mesa and we bumped into an old roommate from college! It was totally random! Turns out he lives in the complex next to ours, what are the chances?!

Here's Chinson and Will playing Guitar Hero with Jake looking VERY interested!
Last weekend, Will's parents came down to OC and we spent Saturday looking at Single Family Residences. Not great luck. Why are Irvine houses so strangely shaped - so many weird angles. And why are the ones with acceptable floor plans always have a big no-no (don't ask, lots of feng-shui things to worry about). It definitely helped to have Will's parents look with us though - they have a lot of experience in the Real Estate market, and it makes me think of all the time we had wasted before looking at stuff without them. Here's a shot of Will's dad playing with Mojo at our place - they totally hit it off together! :)
Lately I've been really frustrated with this person from work. So frustrated that I want to scream. Everything this person does drives me nuts. I wonder if its the hormones. Sometimes I wonder how someone can be so incompetent. One thing this person does that DRIVES ME UP THE WALL: anything this person IM's me, he/she always ends every thought with '....'.

So it's like:
annoying person: "Kathy...do you have the meeting notice for today's meeting?..."
Me: "Yes, I'll forward it to you."
annoying person: "Thanks...Do you have the link for the training?..."
Me: "No, but it should be bla bla bla."
annoying person: "ok... thanks...did you do take it yet?..."
Me: "Yes."
annoying person: "I see..."
Me: "OMG YOU ANNOY ME!!!!!"

ok so that last line didn't happen but I have constantly wanted to type it. Can you tell I have a lot of time on my hands today? Why? Cuz Will is out of town and I hate it! Thank goodness he'll be back tomorrow! yay! 17+ weeks and counting! Baby is the size of an avocado / large onion or something. I don't like avocados but I do like guacamole. mm yum!
